Page 1 of 4 Basmati rises on stockists buying New Delhi (PTI): Basmati rose by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale in the national capital on Saturday on fresh buying by stockists. Other grains also moved up on increased offtake by consuming units. Traders said increased offtake by stockists and local parties helped rice prices to rise. In the rice section, basmati common variety rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5,300-5,800 per quintal. Bajra gained Rs 15 to Rs 900-930 per quintal while jowar yellow and white shot up by Rs 20 each to Rs 875-905 and Rs 1,350-1,400 per quintal. However, maida and sooji lost Rs 10 each to Rs 690-700 and Rs 725-730 per 50 kg respectively on subdued demand due to end of marriage season. Following were Saturday's quotations per quintal in Rs: Wheat MP (deshi) 1,590-1,740, wheat dara (for mills) 1,140-1,165, chakki atta (delivery) 1,175-1,177, atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 160, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 165, Roller flour mill 605-615 (50 kg), Maida 690-700 (50 kilos) and Sooji 725-730 (50 kg). Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,200, Shri Lal Mahal 8,800, Super basmati rice 8,900, Basmati common 5,300-5,800, rice Pusa-1121 - 3,900-4,600, Permal raw 1,375-1,425, Permal wand 1,500-1525, Sela 1,900-1,950 and Rice IR-8 1,290-1,320, Bajra 900-930, Jowar yellow 875-905, white 1,350-1,400, Maize 960-1000, Barley (UP) 1,020-1,070 and Rajasthan 1,130-1,140. |
